OT:JB,this says it all:) from today's Inquirer,Lyons column<<"I'll tell them," said Lenny Wilkens, the Toronto Raptors coach, "that a seventh game has to be a fun time."

But it isn't. It isn't. No more than the Inquisition was. Oh, they always say it's fun, but that's strictly for show. That's macho posturing and parroting. That's what they're supposed to say.

They're not supposed to squint into the camera and say: Well, Bob, to tell you the truth, I'm petrified. I might not look it on the outside, but I feel like someone has nailed my sneakers to the floor. Bob, I can't move!

For fans, a seventh game is a time of agony. It is a time of unbearable suspense and a time of excruciating anticipation, when seconds seem longer than eons. A seventh game is fun only if you win it, and it doesn't become fun until after you have won.

A seventh game is sports' version of defusing a bomb. OK, Bob, it comes down to this: Which wire do I cut, the blue, the yellow or the red? If we're wrong . . .

So today, the 76ers and the Raptors snip the wires. One walks away, the other is blown to smithereens.>>
