Actually, those links of your prove my point. It is you who needs a lesson in history because you obvious fail to see past anything spoon fed to you. You should really read your own links before you offer them as "proof".

Of course the Arab Legion was trained by the Brits, but you failed to see the original purpose of British support. The original Arab military force was trained to fight the Ottoman Empire in WWI. The later Arab Legion was actually created and trained by the Brits to fight the Germans and Vichy French (and some Italians) throughout WWII. The Brits had a history of using indigenous colonial to fight their wars - Gurkhas and Indians being other examples. When WWII was over, the Arab Legion was still around. The Brits later withdrew from Palestine, but the Arab Legion that they trained were still there. The British officers stay for various reasons to include: glory, war, money, etc. - not because the King told them to stay. Naturally, since they were not part of British Army (unlike the Gurkhas), they went into service with the new Arab states. If you were an Arab nationalist, would you not want to use and pay for the only trained force around? The fact that they were originally trained by the Brits to fight Germans proves nothing for you...

You are too easy. I am always amazed at how easily the simple mind can be manipulated, as you apparently have by random internet links...
