the passages Solon quotes are from your own scripture greg, so compose yourself .

Your genuine "sadness" for Solon comes across
as true very genuine concern for his soul.<g> So does
your respect for the ideas and concepts others
have shared here....

If calling the many descriptions of horror, death
and maiming , in the scriptures you cherish seems
to insult you , then you will have to take that up
with those who chose to
write it.

I am less concerned with a God that sends disease
and pestilence, plagues, and floods upon living breathing
creatures and people in this world ,
and more tempted to seek
out a God that is more benevolent
and all-embracing and
enlightened than that.

It is not an insult to to see this , except to those
who would choose to ignore those many
horrific passages and deem them
"instructive" .

I do not share your view that "God" is a being
to be feared , of Satan and evil , and your
constant rancor of being a
chosen one .

Jesus was a Rabbai , a man , a reformer, a mystic
and it is your right
to make him into a God ,
if you choose.
