AMD's best use of advertising dollars would be to subsidize any dollars spent by vendors for shelf space. AMD could offer vendors such as Compaq, eMachines, and Gateway a set number towards buying shelf space at retailors such as Best Buy and Sears, for display of Athlon systems.
