They will pay lip service to his cause, to keep their ignorant masses happy, but they will not go to war for him! This is what I expect as well... But there is always the variable of some trigger event that brings overwhelming sympathy for the Palestinians and forces their leadership to go to war with Israel. But that would require a serious miscalculation on the part of Israeli leaders, which they are not given to make (given their intelligence gathering capabilities and knowledge of Arab intent). Syrians equally have plenty to lose! Yes.., their "dream" of a "Greater Syria", which they have used to justify their occupation of Lebanon, would be lost. As would their access to Lebanese port facilities and those agricultural fields in the Bekaa Valley. Btw, our resident psuedo-intellectual, Slushman, on the China thread was warning us about the "B and C" (biological and chemical) warfare capabilities of certain Arab states and how they might use them against Israel. I wonder how well that kind of action would go with the 1 million Arab Israelis, and the additional million Palestinians living on the West Bank?? Of course, Hussein or Hamas might just consider them all "martyrs for Allah". There is so much simplistic and incomplete analysis being generated over the Mid-East. Even I'm guilty of that at times. But we especially see it eminating from pseudo-analysts/"journalists" who believe they can paint the situation with black/white strokes of their journalistic plume. They can't distinguish between the propaganda (lip-service) and the reality. And that makes for p*ss poor reporting and analysis. Hawk
