American Technology Corp.'s HSS Technology Debuts in Trade Show
Application At Supercomm 2001

SAN DIEGO, Jun 4, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- American Technology Corp.
(Nasdaq:ATCO) today announced that eSOUNDideas Inc., a HyperSonic(TM) Sound
(HSS(TM)) licensee and business development partner, through one of its trade
show and exhibit clients, Intelecon Services Inc., is debuting a tradeshow
application of HSS in the Nortel Networks Corp. exhibit at the Supercomm 2001
Annual Conference and Exhibit being held through June 7 in Atlanta.

Supercomm is the largest annual conference and exhibit for communication and IT
professionals with over 800 leading industry suppliers whose products and
services range from optical networking and IP Telephony to voice-data
architectures.

Doug Paschall, co-founder of eSOUNDideas Inc., stated, "Intelecon is a major
player in the trade show and exhibit marketplace providing comprehensive audio
and visual solutions to leading exhibit companies and their clients. In this
exciting application, which marks the first commercial and professional use of
HSS in a trade show environment, Intelecon has incorporated the HSS emitter into
an overhead robotic pan and tilt system pre-programmed to beam tailored audio
content to select and specific areas in and around Nortel's exhibit space."

Eddie Vakser, president of Intelecon Services Inc., stated, "The interest and
enthusiasm as expressed by our exhibit company clients and their customers,
regarding HSS and its use within their exhibits, displays and staged
environments has been tremendous. HSS technology opens the door to a whole new
world of design opportunities in the use of sound in our marketplace. We look
forward to applying our creative energies to this impressive and unique
technology."

Terry Conrad, president of ATC, stated, "We're extremely pleased with this
important step toward commercialization of HSS and in the efforts put forth by
eSOUNDideas and Intelecon to penetrate this large market. This is an ideal and
effective application for HSS, and also represents an opportunity to introduce
HSS technology to a new audience and to other potential users and licensees."

HyperSonic Sound (HSS) technology, developed in the laboratories of American
Technology Corp. in San Diego, is a revolutionary sound reproduction system. The
most important quality of HSS(TM) is the ability to direct or focus sound into a
tight beam, similar to the beam of light from a flashlight. Not since the
development of the "cone" loudspeaker more than 75 years ago has any technology
provided such a significant departure from conventional speakers.

Ship Ahoy!! ATCO sets sail..
American Technology Corporation's Sound
Reproduction Technologies Installed Aboard
USS Winston S. Churchill

Installation Performed by Bath Iron Works Aboard Navy
Ship

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 2001-- American Technology
Corporation (Nasdaq:ATCO - news), a licensor of innovative new sound
technologies, today announced that the Guided Missile Destroyer USS Winston
S. Churchill (DDG-81), has installed aboard it sound reproduction technologies
supplied by American Technology Corp. and installed by Bath Iron Works, a
General Dynamics Company (NYSE:GD - news).

The ship, launched from the East Coast of the United States this week for sea
trials and operations around the British Isles, includes installations of
HyperSonic(TM) Sound (HSS(TM)), Stratified Field(TM), and NeoPlanar(TM)
sound reproduction technologies. The installation includes a large array of
Stratified Field devices in the hangar deck. A single HSS system and two
NeoPlanar devices are installed in other unrelated compartments.

First launched from Bath, Maine, in April 1999, the Churchill is outfitted with a
variety of new radio communications, digital data transmission, and computer
equipment from several major defense contractors.

``We are proud to have our technologies on board this magnificent,
state-of-the-art Navy vessel,'' stated Terry Conrad, President of American
Technology Corp. ``The SFT installation solves intelligibility and clarity
problems common to the large, box-shaped, steel walled hangar deck when
competing methods are used. Our HSS and NeoPlanar technologies installed on
board improve clarity of communication in other critical areas.

``There are additional opportunities with certain United States Army and Navy
agencies for us to develop and produce our sound reproduction technologies for
further use in communications systems, including systems for military ships,
vehicles, and ground-based personnel. We will continue to pursue
government-related applications for our technology in parallel to our licensing
and product development work in the consumer and commercial arenas.''
