Elmer, Re:Where is your concern about Athlon crashes?

Athlon crashes due to what?

Are you referring to the "some guy heard some VIA guy talking to some AMD guy about having to bump 4 AMD 1.33GHz systems up from 1.75v to 1.8v" thing?

I guess I feel like I need more data before becoming super concerned, especially in light of conflicting evidence of overclockability at stock voltages. But I expressed some concern and a possible hypothesis earlier today on this very board.

Elmer, Re: This is simply speculation on your part.

I suppose to some degree it is. However, given that it's unlikely that the processor die exhibits a uniform thermal profile (indeed thermal images prove otherwise), I think I'm at least technically correct.

I mean, come on, the processor clearly has certain components that run much hotter than others. I doubt they gather the TCC input from the cold parts of the die.

P4 throttling, as reported by known Intel bounty hunter(s) has got to be true. Athlons crashing, as reported by Mike Magee, heretofore Intel bounty hunter, has got to be false. Droid logic. The Droids nervously showed up over here today, trying to whistle past the graveyard about allegations of instability and crashes of their beloved Atholon. Good thing these guys don't play poker.
