Re: "We have seen how WRS failed in consumer markets such as digital camera, PDA, and STB".

Khan,

I think WIND has a very healthy share of design wins in the digital camera area as shown in the slide below. I would not characterise this as a failure. The same is also true of STB's.

STB's and digital TV.

It was only a short while ago in Q4 that WIND was growing at 42% y/y, now in the last reported quarter it is growing at 20%. It's true that the high tech tide has dropped quickly and significantly but that's NOT the same thing as saying the ship is sinking. (I'm not saying you said it was sinking).

"Then there is the set of consumer devices that VxWorks didn't make any sense, such as the Sony MP3 player. I hold the same reservation for products like the Intel tablet".
Both Sony and Intel have the resources to go down whatever route they feel is best with regard to software. For both Sony and Intel VxWorks obviously made sense. I can only conclude that they had their reasons.

Again perhaps I misinterpret your post. If you are saying that R&D spending is a little on the high side then perhaps I could agree with that.

Regards
JC.
