The goodwill write-off must have been from this purchase judging from the price:

February 07, 2000
Akamai Technologies, Inc. and INTERVU Inc., a service provider for Internet audio and video delivery solutions, announced that they have signed a definitive agreement for Akamai to acquire INTERVU in a stock-for-stock transaction valued at approximately $2.8 billion. Each share of INTERVU common stock will be exchanged for 0.5957 shares of Akamai common stock.

The only other acquisition was cheap Net24 at $12.8M...somewhere in this list.

Anyway - looks like much of the stock price suffering may have been due to paying way to much fro INTERVU.

Will watch & also check out some other Content Delivery companies - not familiar with this niche.
