I have been using magnets for some time now (not the reason for my moniker, just coincidence).

Anyway, I wear magnet insoles in my shoes and a magnetic bracelet on my wrist. The reason I went to them was CT type problems with my wrists and forearms.

I am quite sold on their effectiveness and would recommend them regardless of where your pain source is.

I get mine here: whyhurt.com

Other then that, my ergonomic position on the puter absolutely sucks so you don't want my advice there. ;)

>>>> My hands starting going a little numb
in my sleep about 6 weeks ago

I infer from this plural usage means both hands are experiencing numbness

>>>> After doing a lot of sawing
last week the numbness got worse and my wrists swelled

again, plural implies "both" ... so I assume the difficulty is basically equal

Having had similar problems in the past, finding a long lasting cure was difficult ...
and I don't know that this will help YOU ...
and I'm NOT giving you advice to do this, just relating my action .... *(standard disclaimer situation applies ...ggg)

I take 800mg tablets of ibupropen two, three, or four times a day for a day or two AT the first twinge of pain .....

my doc lives next door, is a close friend, and when he does get ahold of me .. money is NO object ---- hehehe ---- and this remedy came about after lots of tests, pt, etc ....

way I have it figured, for my difficulty, age is the major culprit (60), and the horse sized tablets "make me think" I'm well .... dunno for sure, but it does work for me ...

HOWEVER ... my problem was only ONE wrist at a time .... and ONE elbow at a time ....
with yours being both *(I assume both) it sounds different ....

not being a doctor ...
far be it from me to dispense medical advice ...
but
it sounds to me as if there is a reaction to something "other" than physical strain ....

as you've been to the ortho guy, who has ruled out c/t/s,
and I don't mean to scare you, but how about a heart doc ....
I recall that numbness, especially at night, is a precursor symptom to circulatory problems ...
OR
my guess *(non medically founded) is an allergic reaction to some medicine or food ....

Normally, Joe, I wouldn't even attempt to respond to your post, for this thread isn't, and I'm not equipped to give such advice,
but
what the heck ...I've had a similar experience, and it took a good chunk of time and money to obtain relief for me ..
and I know I'm pleased with my results ...

good luck

ps ..
this could well only work in Texas, NY "might" have a different fix ...... gggggg
