Dave,

the latest reports are that P4/RDRAM mobos outsold DDR mobos by 40% in Q1. All while RDRAM was more expensive than DDR.

Amazing statistic considering that there were no major OEM's delivering DDR in Q1.

RDRAM sales must really suck bad.

Hi Dave B; Re: "Carl says that DIYers will drive the huge volume in DDR."

I never said that. It's clear that the huge volume in DDR will be in 2002 when corporate switches over.

You're basically looking at the nose of the camel and thinking that he's not going to get any further into the tent.

Re: "However, the latest reports are that P4/RDRAM mobos outsold DDR mobos by 40% in Q1." This is probably true, but it doesn't matter. Heck, RDRAM mobos probably outsold DDR mobos by better than 1000% in 4Q00. The trend is in the favor of DDR, not RDRAM.

Re: "All while RDRAM was more expensive than DDR." Actually, DDR's big price drop didn't happen until 2Q. My price series didn't even start until March 26.
