As you were saying...
(from Briefing, this am)

<<<07:47 ET What Would ALA/LU Deal Mean For Others? : ABN AMRO ponders the implications of an Alcatel (ALA) acquisition of Lucent (LU). Firm believes that NT would be most affected and would need to acquire a company like Marconi (MONI) for greater customer reach and share in Europe. Thinks that European suppliers like Siemens (SI) and even MONI may follow Alcatel with their own acquisitions. Firm's buyout list for target US companies would be RBAK, TLAB, AFCI.>>>

Namaste!

Jim

elmo, a) ALA revenue from old voice switches is only 7%
(outside US)
Former NN IP+ATM switch-router is 50 Gbits/s with revenue accelerating, and 450 Gbit/s versioin is releases any time.
The best fit is at the edge to manage broadband services.
LU ATM switch was sold primary to CELCs and leck many features big boys want.
Is only 25Gibt/s and they have problem to scale......
Based on your comments it is celar that you know that bell is ringing but have no clue were and what about.
