Since you are not connected to the grid, one solution to consider is a combination of solar and wind power, provided that you are in a location that has sufficient wind. The typical solar-only solution requires expensive lead acetate batteries to use when there's no sun. Believe it or not, with the newer wind power designs, it's cheaper to rely on wind power than battery power. AstroPower has already begun working on a solar-wind combination unit.
