Margin debt is stalled at 165 B...It peaked in Mar 00 at 278 B.

I realize that your stats are NYSE, not Nasdaq, but if Nasdaq is comparable, margin debt as a percent of market cap is higher now that in Mar 00. The Nasdaq now is less than half of what it was, margin debt is more than half.

To me this indicates speculation is as rampant now as it was then.
