Kap, you don't think Nasdaq going from 5100 to 1700 was capitulation?

CNBC kept whining about a lack of "panic selling" for a few months, until they finally gave up. I don't know why they (or anyone) would expect panic selling after a market was already down over 60%... if you hadn't already panicked, there was little point in doing so at Nas 2000. I think people took more of a 'gallows humor' perspective at that point.

Anyhow, the markets always turn before the underlying corporations do... I bet bookings will be up for may / june / etc. After all, we have to crank out tons of those new Nvidia Crush chipsets. :)

Doug

p.s. That said, I sure wouldn't be long *Intel* right now-- in fact I hold June puts, a la Pravin. But AMD is such a value stock that I'm not worried holding it. It's just much safer to be the little guy gaining marketshare at the expense of the big guy during 'shrinking pie' times.

kapkan4u, I disagree, I think we are living through an artifact of JIT inventory systems that causes rapid drops in orders. At the same time inventory depth is far lower so the interval where you classically worked off excess inventory is far shorter and I think we will see the economy ramp up in the 2nd to 3rd quarter, spurred by the fall build cycle and no doubta aided by the lower prices on CPUs etc.
