Ben: China Unicom, a provider of second mobile communication services and code-division multiple access (CDMA), has decided to launch its synchronous 2.5 generation mobile phone (CDMA2000 1x) service by the end of the year. Your post of this news this morning drew no comment. A similar post on the other thread likewise drew no real comment. But if true, this seems to me to be a big deal, coming so soon after the CDMA 95A network infra orders, or am I missing something? Maybe the threads are so jaded after the "on-off-on-off........finally on" China CDMA saga of the last year or so that no-one will believe it until the orders for 1x equipment are actually confirmed.
