Forced to license Microsoft software?!?!? That would be a case for the DOJ :-)

Nokia, Motorola and Ericsson are big enough to create their own software, and big enough to create standards.

People don't want more features - they want their job done easily, and they dream of mastering the current feature set. The complexity of a VCR is already too complex for many people, and a Windows computer has an unreachable complexity for most people on this planet.

The difference between Microsoft and Nokia is that most people on this planet would prefer Nokia products to Microsoft products... most people can much better relate to a TV or phone than a computer.

The simpler Microsofts products are, the bigger the competition. The more complex their products are, the smaller the market.
