The Democratic Party is more tolerant than the Republicans.....it's more inclusive so it has more practice with compromise.

The Democrats are more tolerant by neccessity. Too many coalitions of fickle constituencies. Republicans are gaining strength because of the strength of its coalition. This is emboldened by the fact that many yellow dog Dems are supporting us, too.

It is the wacko liberals, and extreme right that hurt both parties when considering the effect on those in "the middle".
