There is the troubling aspect that unless you use 128bit or 5ns (2x200MHz) DDR (very expensive, used by graphics), you can't match the quad pumped 100MHz FSB of the P4, and when that 100MHz becomes 133MHz, you need sub 4ns DDR, which are even more expensive.

I posed the question to carl without any response from him about 150 MHZ quad pumped bus since PC1200 RDRAM is in the cards in 2002 if you look at INtel's IDF memory slides. DDR doesn't get any prettier the higher the bus speed goes due to more lost clocks on bus.
