Now - the fact that it is out 18 months before the SludgePumper is the significant thing.

How much of a head start will it have running Windows? Apparently, Beta is not out yet.

By the way - care to tell us when the SludgePumnper was originally set for release?

I seem to recall Q4 2001 as the original timeframe.

Can't really recall when Sledgehammer was supposed to originally ship, but early in 1999, prior to the naming of the Athlon and Sledgehammer code name, K8 was supposed to ship Q1 2001.
