I was serious and agree that they have been jerked around. Give them a place they can call their own and certainly the Germans owe it to humanity for what they did to the Jews.

We are not one human life span away from Auschwitz. Now is the time to do something to solve all these problems.

Germany is just an immigration destination anyway.

Why do you think I hate the Palestinians? Because I thought it would be cruel on Bavaria to move all the Palenstinians there? I would have said the same if he has proposed shipping all the Zionists to Bavaria.

You're absolutely right, the reason this problem is so intractable is that there is a lot of truth on both sides. The world took something away from the Palestinians to pay back the Jews for the evils done to them. Is this fair? Of course not. But, when is world politics ever fair? Should the Amerindians get the U.S. back? Should the Mayans get Buenes Aires back? (My geography may be off, but let's not get picky! <g>) Closer to home, should the descendents of the Jews who were shipped out of Poland have ownership of the former ghetto areas restored to them?

Wars displace people. Always have. Always will. My ancestors lost land to the Normans in 1066. Will I ever get it back?

The Palestinians were robbed by the world powers. No question about it.

But does that justify blowing up women and children who weren't even alive when that happened? I don't think so. Just as my belief that the Branch Davidians were murdered doesn't justify McVeigh.

I don't know what the answer is. But I know what it isn't. And it isn't blowing up women and children who weren't even born when when Israel was created.

Does that mean the Palestinians need to simply relax in their homes? Of course not. There are good examples of peoples achieving social justice without violence. Gandhi. Martin Luther King. The Dali Lama hasn't prevailed yet, but we don't see Tibetans setting off bombs in Bejing.

There are better ways. But so far, apparently the Palestianians haven't been persuaded of that.
