Have to agree with Charters on this one--Israel will telegraph the Palestinians the best deal over time if things settle down.

Let's see if gold can move Monday with the US closed.

Well if you were a Palestinian it's likely that after 50 years of non stop running and hiding you would be throwing rocks too. It is a person's first instinct if something pisses him off enough. Yet you can't let people walk on you. If the other guy has the power and it's legislated it is an awful waste of energy to play the game of bucking the system. On the other hand living under the gun is perhaps ignoble and it's hard to find self respect in that. I often remark that all the institutions of man use reams of bluster and rhetoric to justify their authority, whereas if the mandate had inherent right that was unquestionable, it would not need the rhetoric or brainwashing to justify it.

In North America it is positively dangerous to present an unbiased rational opinion about the mid east. It is apparent that to hold a politically correct belief requires a suspension of disbelief that would trouble a child.
