AMD needs Mustang, if for no other reason than to spoil Intel's 1MB and 2MB Xeon markets. If AMD can cripple Intel's margin on large cache Xeon processors, AMD will have justified a run of 50,000 Mustang processors, even if they never sell a single Mustang processor. For some reason, AMD fails to realize this.

Doug: So when Intel Xeon margins take it in the chin because of AMD's dual-capable A4s, how are they going to charge more for Xeons that work in 4- and 8-way systems? Aren't those the same Xeon chips that work in 2-way systems? I thought so. With the P4, this won't be the case. There will be one version for 2-way SMP and one for 3+-way (at least initially). -fyo

ANd you expect MORE OEMS to support a much more complex product such as the 2 year delayed 760MP ? Sheesh. Since you are SO IN THE KNOW - why don't you just list all those OEMs and the server products that will be announced on June 4. Go ahead - you claim you're so IN THE KNOW - post them right now. All of them !
