Like its neighbors, Cisco to shed real estate

They all know what is coming, recovery lol.

SAN FRANCISCO, May 26 (Reuters) - Silicon Valley-based networking equipment maker Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:CSCO - news) plans to offer for sublease 750,000 square-feet of office and research and development space, the San Francisco Chronicle reported on Saturday.

The newspaper said Cisco plans to sublease the space throughout Silicon Valley to help adjust to a slowing economy and lower demand for its networking products.

Cisco this year has terminated 8,000 employees. In the first quarter, Cisco posted a $2.69 billion loss, the company's first loss since its 1990 initial-public-offering.

Silicon Valley technology companies are dumping commercial real estate at record pace this year, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The newspaper said the high-tech region's commercial real estate market now has about 6.5 million square feet available for lease, or triple the space available in the same period last year.

Hi Westpacific,

<< incredible personnal net worths, due to the nature of individual savings>>

and

<<strongest manufacturing base in the world>>

True and true. But, again, as same for the points that DJ made, these may not matter, in the big picture.

I think it is extremely possible, and can certainly be argued that, in the extreme case …

See post to Joel and DJ ...
