So investing is all about short-term worries and concerns, many of which may not be there in twelve months?

I didn't say that. I'm just sick of hearing that Schuab info-mercial.

I guess I'm wrong. There's no risk in AMAT for the long term. Just insert money into the machine and it will double every three years.

Every post Cary uses the word "risk" and talks about hedging his position, money management. He might not double his money every three years, but he's not going to get wiped out. Others is just a matter of time.

Brian, I read this and many threads daily. Your contributions to this thread are noteworthy. I can count on you finding the dozens of relevant article almost daily.

I find that current articles provide either bad news or the “it can’t get much worst”.

YTD I am up over 50% return primarily due to the stock prices jump from Jan 01. With 60% in cash I will wait for a good sign before I think we are in the recovery.

Using Gottried’s charts and the 97/98/99 cycle as an indicator for a 2000/2001/2002 recovery, I see July or September to be a bottom. Or maybe not.

I do not agree with the ex-Dilbert's idea that capacity buys would lead the way instead of technology and size. Size of 300mm is capacity over 200mm. I beleave they could buy technoligy / size and get the capacity.

:-)
