Whatever you might think about Jeppards, he didn't have a career as a spy before openly joining the enemy, like Phil Gramm did. I've never heard Greenspan speak, but I find it hard to believe he can mangle the mother tongue worse that W. The latter skill requires lifelong training, I think. W couldn't have gotten where he is on that front without his father's assistance.

OT: I dunno, I doubt Jeffords had to be paided. He just followed the logic of his voting record, which over the years has more often been with the Democrat left. He's always been comfortable voting against his former Party, so it's not like this is going to change the way he votes (unless he now betrays the Democrats, lol). It's real effect is to insure that the Left will rule in the Senate, so what he's doing is being loyal to his ideology instead of his Party.
