Thanks for your answer; I was asking about the predictive value of the p/c ratio and vix-- last week with the equity p/c ratio at .4 and the vix falling to 23-- the major averages did go down-- ie,dow-2.65,, s&p--1.1, etc; however the naz rose 2.4 %; so that using these over bought ratios are not clear cut to me--are these leading or coincident indicators and how do they relate to subsectors of the market?
