Rob, <EV7 has features and functionality McKinley will drool over> Can you elaborate on those? Also does Compaq/Alpha have silicon yet? For me the question in the Itanium vs Others (US III, EV7, PA-Risc, Power4) debate is whether any of the other will continue to have an edge over Itanium successors. Round 1 has definitely gone to Others. However, I am not sure about the next few rounds. In spite of everything possible going wrong for Itanium it is still surprisingly competitive compared to Others which speaks poorly about them.
