I remember talking to a guy while I was in college. He was not a student, but was on campus to stir up some support for something, I don't recall what. He asked me what I was studying. I told him I was studying Painting and Sculpture. He looked at me very seriously and said, "In the New Society, there will be no Art. You'll have to work for a living." This was my introduction to College Socialist Thought. That guy thought I was a useless appendix to the culture, and I thought he was completely insane.
