Here is something: your wife and you are going through difficulties. Do you pretend to your children and relatives that things are okay? If someone who would not be affected asked how things were going, would you tell them not to pry, or just say fine? Do you and your wife deserve a "zone of privacy" in which to attempt to work things out without feeling as if it being done in public?
