First of all, all these profit warnings... this was all known two months ago and has nothing to do with the sell off despite what the media tells us.
Then what is causing this? The fed has been printing money like maniacs the last few months, all the while worried sick about inflation. No one else is worried about inflation, but if you were printing money the way they have been you'd worry about it. Then last week the fed began draining liquidity (May 16, 2001)to keep things from getting out of hand... effectively ending the rally. When things go to far that way this secretive little gang will blow the shorts out of the water probably in a surprise days before options expiration or not.
