Market collapse is not a given but very possible. I am very pessimistic about the direction of the economy and a major recession (similar to 1980-1982) is possible. In such an environment, i do believe that biotechs shares will suffer (and we have seen that in April 2001).

Again, this has nothing to do with NBIX and the prospects for biotechs, but valuation measures do change, and share prices go with them. Of course, if you find very undervalued stocks, you will outperform in such a market.
My strategy is a bit different, I started to swingtrade undervalued stocks (for added insurance) in Summer Y2000 to profit from volatility. Have been doing quite well so far, and am very reluctant to give up my gains.
