In this case however, it is fairly obvious that for all intents and purposes it is probably true, at least on paper. For AMD to clearly pull ahead they have to copy Intel, enabling operation of mobile Palomino at higher MHz on AC than batteries.

What is not obvious is how Tualatin will fair against Thoroughbred.

Then why did DELL announce - and ship - 1.7 GHz Pentium 4 PCs, 1.7 GHz XEON workstations and 800 MHz ITanium workstations and servers?

Maybe I missed an AMD-based Dell announcement - please post it if I did.
