Anyone mentioned "American Beauty " ?

a very powerful scene , one where he is
watching the swirling of the leaves in
slow-mo....all that lies hidden
within us....our desires fears and wants.
What we are , held together
so loosely and fragile .

So much of what we are
always at the mercy of and
being blown and tossed around
in the winds...what really endures?

very surreal and a brilliant cinema moment for me .

Not just a "guy"- a knight! With the French King (Louis the Fat).
I found it ANYTHING but a slow start. The ladies maid is shot with a crossbow, the girl who lifted her skirt princess of England( with England at war with France) is decked by her English uncle who catches her in hanky panky with the French king who gets away. The King and knight escape only after beheading someone. They the knight (after being given permission by the king to marry his beloved) encounter a witch and captures her doing her unholy work and takes her off to the knight's castle where his beloved Frenegonde awaits him- but he is enchanted by the witch and shoots his father in law- Frenegonde will be a nun rather than marry another, and the only hope for the knight is to travel back through the tunnles of time, to before he shot his father in law, so that he can undo his mistake. Only the wizard forgets to add the eggs. And he goes all the way to the present. A SLOW start?????
