Israel is neither all-powerful nor invincible. Just remember that Israeli general who's been snuffed out in Lebanon a coupla years ago (*)... If Israelis were as fool as to hit Arafat, not only they'd lose diplomatic support BIG-TIME but they'd face retaliation as well (at the same level, of course). Anyway, most of the time, heads of state get murdered by their own intelligence thugs (JFK, Yitzhak Rabin, Aldo Moro, etc.) Gus (*) Israeli General Killed in South Lebanon In a severe blow to Israel's occupation of South Lebanon, the leader of the Israeli forces in the "security zone" was killed by a bomb along with three others. He was General Erez Gerstein, the highest ranking officer to die in Lebanon since Israel's 1982 invasion. They were on the road between Marjeyoun and Kawkaba when a bomb exploded under their vehicle killing all four. Hizbollah's penetration deep inside the enemy lines is proving very costly to Israel, given that its latest casualties come within few days from another successful operation by the Lebanese resistance in "Birket al Jabbour", where high ranking military men found their death four days earlier. After yesterday's news, Netanyahu vowed to hit targets in Lebanon in retaliation to the resistance latest success against his disoriented army. As part of its propaganda, Israel falsely announced that Katyusha rockets were fired from South Lebanon into the Galilee, in an attempt to validate its planned aggression. Last night, Israeli warplanes raided positions in Baalbeck, Naameh and Zillayah as a response to the latest resistance activity.Saida, March 1 1999
