Don Hays who often is very good seems to have gone off the deep end. His emerging theme is a new huge bull market begins by 2003 because of the spread of DEMOCRACY AND DEFLATION. Of course what he really means is total US world domination.

Deflation and democracy are deadly enemies. The 1930s depression came close to destroying democracy here in the US. And the Hays thesis that all the lesser nations will forever keep striving to flood the US with high quality goods at cheap prices regardless of US payment deficits strikes me as incredibly naive and chauvinisitc.

Postmen learn to 'read' minds of German dogs
By Michael Leidig in Berlin ...

"...Stefan Biegier, a dog trainer, said: "It is a war of minds. The postman thinks: 'I come here every day and go very quickly. Surely the dog understands this?' But the dog thinks: 'This fellow is on my territory and I must teach him a lesson he won't forget.' "..."

"...Then they armed postal staff with "Contra Spray", a CS gas for dogs. It is still used but postmen have complained that they often find themselves being bitten as they struggle to find the spray, remove the cap, aim and fire it.

One dog in Bavaria even managed to put his paw on the spray while it was on the ground and blind the postman before he could reach it. The dog then bit him. Mr Biegier said: "I teach people that fear is fatal. You must stand your ground. Never run: the dog will always be faster. And if attacked by a pit bull the only option is to play dead...."

Regards, Don
