I am very tuned into media , and what youth are thinking. I don't know about you , but simplistic or not you find Yoga on the front cover of Time , or entire Major News hours devoted to it ...and many kids taking it up, and enchanted with the eastern methods all over again. Yes it was a hip thing to do in the 60's ...but i assure you Yoga is far from "simplistic" , and is coming back massively strong each day all over the world . Were talking about what can effecting real change here ... and I personally think the art/science of Yoga will help . At least the world would be a little less "up-tight" , if it was at least a little more limber . ;-) The information age is going to change so much now that you won't recognize much 150 yrs from now. And as you say just in the last 30 yrs so much has changed. I don't view the gov't as all powerful, the media is more powerful than govt's in many ways . Trust me Jerry Falwell and the fundies are not at all a threat , and will die off anyways . Jerry Falwells don't faire to well at debates at Harvard or MIT , UCB or other great secular Universities anyways ,he just gets a bit of press but so what ? Even he has metamorphized lately , and so is the Catholic Imperial Dynasty ...because they have too. Perhaps there is alot that is intimidating in modern society with technological change outpacing many people's ability to comprehend it ....all the more reason for some kind of advance in modernising & updating many religious thoughts and myths .
