Last time I was here I mentioned that I'd gotten a call from someone whose daughters go to school in Scarsdale, where they had, that day, prohibited booing.

Remembering the kind of good-natured booing that went on when I was in school, that surprised me greatly.

But in this article from today's NYPOST:

It says that "About 15 percent of youth games involve some sort of verbal or physical abuse from parents or coaches, compared with just 5 percent five years ago, according to Fred Engh, president of the National Alliance for Youth Sports."

That's up 300% in just the last five years.

It is evidently a whole new world out there. There are lots of parents out of control, too, not just students. It is so appalling.
