If that does not open your mind

I don't that you would find openness to be the issue, were you offering any concrete evidence or a theory of greater predictive power. "I read it in this book" just isn't a terribly compelling statement considering all of the nonsense that has been published and the number of people who have taken one brand of nonsense or the other as TRUTH based on little more than it was in print and appealed to them in some way.

FWIW, I have something close to a 40 year history of challenging what might be considered to be the scientific establishment ... challenging them to do better science, but even mediocre science is better than "this book said so".

At the risk of being remotely on topic, itself a questionable notion on this thread, has it occurred you to think of the many books and "prophets" there have been in investing, how deeply many have believed in them, and how poorly they have worn with time?
