I don't think anybody really cares if you believe in God. The choice of acceptance or rejection is personal and only involved you. I'm not bothered by your choice. I am bothered by militant agnostics marching in the street demanding special rights.

I suppose you expect a mob do descend on your house screaming and shouting that you accept Santa Claus as real.

I'd suppose that an agnostic accepts the existence of the divine - i.e., s/he believes - but is unsure about how, or if, to worship; certainly an agnostic does not follow any established religion.

An agnostic would accept that he or she doesn't know if God exists. It isn't "a state of mind in which the supernatural plays no part", but it isn't an acceptence of the existence of the divine either.
