I can assure you that is the price I received. When the bxm discovery was first made, it sounded impress. It captured the imagination of a lot of people. Those who followed the story closely and were not blinded by the propect of open ended riches saw the story beginning to unravel and liquidated their positions. The less fortunate held and were wiped out in a day when the fraud was exposed. The bxm fiasco occurred just prior to the fall in the pog. It was about this time that some people including myself began to look at the people behind the gold companies. It did not take long to recognize a management style emphasizing half truths and production with little thought as to the supply and demand fundamentals of the industry. Barrick being the innovator of gold hedging, enjoyed an exclusive environment for a long time. Then the other producers jumped on the bandwagon and hedged every ounce that the bankers would offer them. New production and leased gold smothered the gold market.
Between the producers, the cb's, and the bankers, the gold market is in disarray. Still, gold fever continues to captures the hearts and minds of a great many people as evident by the overall tone of this board. Each and every day is viewed as the day that some fiasco will ignite the cataclysm that will restore gold to its pre imminent position as the ultimate store of wealth with its price soaring. The day, weeks, and years unfold and gold lanquishes. The supply overhang is still substantial and ready to extinquish any rally. The board needs a balanced view. Gold fever can be more virulent than a viral epidemic.
There is little else to say.

Ken

Alan!!!!!! Altho' Ken does NOT need my defense, he is telling the truth. I was one of the ones he told after he sold, who urged me repeatedly to cash out near the top, and to not get greedy.
I listened and rode BXM from $108 which was my entry point to just under $223--- and those are USA bucks---not those loonie Canada bucks!

Ken hangs around on the GPM thread for the same reason a lot of us do...we have friends here, (and enemies<grin>) especially from the old Prodigy Days when we first learned of Bre-X from an asshole, Shawn something...
...and we oldtimers, NOT UNLIKE YOURSELF, ALAN,
like to keep our finger on the pulse of the occasional gold stock gem that comes riding through the GATA smuck/gunk, and the nattering naaboobs of optimisim that smell a breakout every 3rd goat entrail entry on this
thread.

While he and I differ on using gold as money which is my experience,
and while he's never bought my book, nor peeked between its covers...
while I've got him beat on the rate of return of my gold recycling at LESS than $20 per oz gold cost and selling it consistently at today's prices and higher, and his BXM ROR between his $6 entry point and his $225 sell...
and while I'm CONVINCED the gold is still in Busang and I don't believe he shares that belief
at least not to my knowledge,
he and I certainly still see eye to eye on various golden matters, including current POG trading range, why it's there and the dubiousness of it being any different anytime soon. You'd be amazed at the extent of
Ken's overseas gold contacts, their titles et al...and his posts are NOT to be taken lightly, altho' his joy at poking
the needle in the hotair balloons of others ranges from comical to painful to watch on occasion.

And I, for one, am EXTREMELY grateful he stayed on my case when we BXM holders started to
get behind the ABX/Monk shennigans stories and check with each other, and take a different tack on the story. I still owe him and his lovely wife a steak dinner for the mistake he saved me from making, by holding on too long.

THANKS,
.......AGAIN,
..............PUBLICALLY, Ken Benes!
