William: Thanks for the economic background post... We have an interesting dichotomy here... The economic news gets worse but the markets seem to want to look beyond the news... Even now that the second half recovery is in doubt the market keeps fighting back... The best example of this was the reaction to the Xilinx CEO interview on CNBC today... While he acknowledged that there is no new visibility on orders he suggested that cancellations were slowing... This was enough to ignite the techs... The LU upbeat interview also suggested that while things may not be getting better, they're not getting worse... This is what the market needs right now in lieu of an earnings turnaround... Nasdaq 2250 is a key number to watch... Jim
