frog, My reason for MSFT taking the Nasdaq along with it this time is that much has changed in market capitalizations of the major Nasdaq stocks. The ability of other stocks to influence market direction on the Nasdaq has been significantly reduced, while the influence of MSFT has increased.

That is why I expect a greater correlation between the Naz and MSFT.....now.
The market weightings change has done this.

In addition, if you get Cisco/ INTC like they have over the last 2 days and you got a powerful combination for the Naz.
