I for one am a big fan of re-development.

If you own real-estate, then I can see why you're a big fan... <VBG>

But those new families trying to make a start, prices are a serious burden.

Many of the new "Bushites" discovered how serious the problem is in the DC area, were 1 bedroom apartments are around $1,000/month, if you can find one.

I've met more than one who was shocked at the prices they were forced to pay to live in our nation's capital.

But then then there are folks like a relative of ours who lives in Lexington, MA, where despite the upper scale neighborhood with it's fancy new homes, they are not hooked up to the city's natural gas grid and have to have storage tanks.

Btw, real-estate in the DC metropolitan area is expected to climb 20-30% per year for the forseeable future.
