It's a financial adventure, and I'm along for the ride. Don't ask me to like it. But show me some finacial progress and I might get excited.

I understand where you're coming from on this, and without Intel breaking everything out by segment (even within the communications area), it's impossible to determine how well they're doing. Right now the communications division is lumped in with everything else. If I had to bet money (oh wait a minute, I have, I own stock), I would say that their gigabit adapters and the like are making money at this point. DSP and other chips are still most likely in the red (especially if you consider acquisition costs). My point was that this quarter is the wrong quarter to look for communications profits. If we have hit bottom, and the economy is turning around, I would be a lot more concerned about what the picture looks like in Q4 of this year and/or Q2-3 next year. If the division still hasn't turned a buck by the end of next year, I think you'd have a strong case.
