I don't remember the date, but I had a similar suggestion to quit motorcycles.

My friend and I were be-bopping along about 25 mph on the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park on dirt bikes listening to Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds enjoying the scenery.

I went around a descending turn, hit a rock, and it flipped my front tire sideways. I took instant header into the road with no helmet. I bloodied my nose pretty bad and my two front teeth hurt like hell. A little harder and I'd have lost them. It happened so fast, I wasn't quite sure what happened when I came to.

I sold the motorcycles and bought the Jeep. Now I can carry my ice chest when I want to go into the back of beyond.

That reminds me of one of those Scariest Things I Ever Did.

Yours beats mine. I only got a busted arm on Sunset Blvd.
