I agree completely.

But let's dispense with this pretense about Materialistic Naturalism, being philosophically and spiritually neutral. It claims truth for itself as much as any other view

Everyone believes their position is the correct one or they wouldn't hold it. I agree with you about the fact that atheism is not somehow neutral and it doesn't deserve automatic acceptance any more then any other idea.

people still refuse to abandon that which is obvious to all but the most willfully blind, the fact that God exists and we are responsible to Him.

Perhaps then I am willfully blind. I have faith but it is a very week and uncertain faith. The existance of God is not obvious to me, responsibility to God is even less obvious. I am not claiming that either of these ideas is wrong merely that they are not obvious to me.
