Why thank you! All of us here in Silicon Valley (and Los Angeles, too, I'm sure) would like nothing better that to have AN HOUR OR TWO ADDED TO OUR COMMUTES EVERY DAY BECAUSE YOU, JERK, FORCED US INTO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION!

You think that's an exaggeration? It's not. I can make it to work in about 25 minutes in a car. It's over an hour on public transportation. That's each way.

You see silly, americans don't like mass transportation because it is not cost effective, if it were they would love it
Thank you for enlightening us. You are truly a perceptive genius. Except... public transportation is already cheaper than a car- -at least in immediate costs. It's actually more expensive, but the thieves who run it are allowed to steal from me via taxes. And steal they do.
The reason Americans (the first letter is capitalized, by the way) don't like public transportation is the one I mentioned above, not the cost.

Are you out of grammar school yet? Junior high? Come on, don't lie.

You are totalling ignorant about mass transportation. We dont have it cause PEOPLE WONT USE IT. S. Fla SUCKS when it comes to bus lines and all, its because we are relatively NEW as to buildup and lots of room so suburbs spaced out ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE. We have a few bus lines and they usually run nearly empty EVEN THOUGH we TRIED making the fares FREE, same with our train service from West Palm Beach to Miami. It isnt Republicans who are against mass transit its THE PEOPLE. jdn

Umm, no. Americans have repeatedly voted with their dollars against pub trans. Get over it. Americans love their cars. It is relatively cheap to commute into NYC from Jersey, and a lot less of a hassle than sitting in massive traffic at the Lincoln Tunnel at the beginning and end of every day. And yet people still drive. Why is that? Why has study after study shown that Americans will SAY that pub trans is a good idea, but asked if they would use it, they say no - I love my car. You would pay for an expensive public transportation system that no one would use, and penalize people for deciding for themselves what form of transportation they prefer. Typical elitist Leftist garbage.
