I haven't read about or listened to HP CC. It is clear that tech spending slowdown is unabated and no near term turnaround is expected. Those predictions of 2nd half of 2001 for rebound in economy are getting more elusive IMO. Most observers recently are claiming 2002 that things will get better than late 2001.

That's what happened last fall when HP talked about the sudden slowdown and McNealy claimed that Sun didn't see any problems...

After today's conference call, SUNW and HWP seem to warning in sync so not sure if that is relevant any more. Just like the whole "telecom sector" is spooked, it may with a broad brush spook the "computer sector" even more.
