John:

MD is around .098.

I believe he neglected to add all the components together.

John - I'd love to have just about anyone's electric rate instead of what I have. Personally, I've replaced all light bulbs with fluorescents, I turn off the computer when it's not in use, and I rarely use the oven. Our building doesn't have air conditioning since we're near the water, so my bills haven't been so bad. Also, in the winter, the building is solar heated. Our building in rather unique in this respect. Not many buildings here use solar. In fact, it's been very difficult to find technicians who know how to service our building.

We've had several restaurant closures here recently. One was a long-time favorite that closed without warning over Memorial Day. They just locked up and put a sign on the door that said the business was closed due to rising costs. I'm sure there will be more if electric and gas rates don't drop.

Companies that might benefit from our power crisis? -- Whoever makes the compact fluorescent bulbs -- they're really popular here. I think more people will be investigating solar power also, so if there's a company that makes that equipment, it might be worth a look. Also - barbeque grills. I'm sure a lot of folks will be cooking outside this summer.
